The airline was established in 1995 and started operations in March 1996. It was certified as a US domestic airline in 1998, operating the B 727-200 to mostly Caribbean destinations.In May 2006, Falcon Air Express filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. After some years of restructuring, as of December 2011, they are once again back in business. In 2011, the company acquired the airline Dutch Antilles Express based on the island of Curacao and now Falcon Air Express operates daily non-stop service to Curacao from Miami under the Dutch Antilles Express name.
